Newcastle Anzac March
Maryland Shortland Scout Group will be participating the Newcastle Anzac Day March.
All Joeys, Cubs, Scouts & Venturers, and adult members are invited to attend this event.
Date: Saturday 25 April 2026
Time: 8am – 10am
Sections: All sections
Dress: Full scout uniform – Scout Shirt & Scarf, Black/Navy pants, dark coloured jacket
Pre march BBQ breakfast:
Time: 8am – 8:25am
Location: At the BBQ’s along the Foreshore Footpath, walk east from Queens Wharf Hotel.
Cost: A gold coin donation per person
Assemble for the March
Time: Arrive by 8:30am
Location: Hunter Street near Market Street
Important information:
· All sections are invited to participate in the Anzac March, representing Scouts Australia
· March participants are expected to walk approx. 1km from the assembly point to the end of the march at Civic Park.
· Parents are encouraged to observe the march along the planned route and meet their child at Civic Park.
End of the March
Time: Approx 9:45am
Location: Auckland Street Newcastle (under the large trees at the western end of Civic Park)
· Parents are to advise supervising leaders they are collecting their child.
· Remaining for the service is not required. If parents wish to remain for the service, youth must be in their care.
· Participation in the Anzac Day March will contribute towards the ANZAC Badge
