Mikayla's Adventurous Journey

● Scouts will be going on a 3 day, 2 night 28km hike in warrumbungle national park, carpooling down with leaders from the scout hall, starting the hike at camp Wambelong, hiking, camping at danu camp then hiking and camping at hurleys camp,ending at Warrumbungle Visitor Centre. From there will also be carpooling back to the scout hall with leaders.
● In Warrumbungle National Park - starting at camp Wambelong, hiking on Burbie trail, camping at Danu camp night 1, then hiking on Western High Tops track, Nuarda Saddle track, up Bluff Mountain track then back down onto Dagda Bluff corner track, Grand High Tops track Grand High Tops lookout then back down to Dagda shortcut, Grand High Tops track, onto Hurleys track, camping at Herleys camp night 2 then back up Herley track, onto Grand High Tops track, Belougery trail, John Renshaw PKWY, Belougerie Flats trail, Middle Belougerie Flats trail, Blackman no 2 Acc rd,, Blackman road, Blackman track and onto Wurrumbungle NP internal Acc rd to complete the hike at the Information Centre
Preparation
● A mandatory meeting will be arranged for all participants in the 2 weeks prior to hike. All participants must attend
● Pack bag,Prepare own food.
* Ensure all youth know their water purification methods
Clothing & Equipment
● Scouts are to wears uitable clothing and shoes for hiking
● $60 - this assists with fuel costs and National Park camping & entry fees. Pay cash on arrival at the hall.
● A gear list will be emailed separately
Travel Arrangements
● Saturday 3 October 2026 at 7:30 am -
Scouts will be meeting leaders at the scout hall at 7:30am. We will carpool to Warrumbungle National Park, leaving no later than 7:50
● Scouts will finish the hike at the Warrumbungle Information Centre on
Monday 5 October 2026
and meet up with leaders to carpool back to the scout hall where they can be picked up at about 7:30pm. Updates will be provided via Facebook page for exact pick up times.

Supervision
● This hike is indirect supervision. Youth will be hiking independently.
